The Gardeners’ House is dedicated to celebrating the unique stories of West Cornwall, creating a welcoming space for our community to connect with each other and the spaces around us.
We are here for the people of Penzance, bringing together the threads of the past, present and future of our part of Cornwall.
Celebrating our landscape
Melissa Hardie-Budden, founder of The Hypatia Trust, gave us an archive of books and objects spanning some 200 years. It shapes our workshops and events, and you can book an appointment with our Collections Manager to explore it. We’re also building a living archive of West Cornwall today, and we’d love you to add to it.
Celebrating our people
The House is open to everyone. We work with local schools, community and youth groups, and organisations supporting older people. There are volunteering roles for all kinds of skills, and community fundraising on the way.
Celebrating local stories
A welcoming place to enjoy, connect and share your own stories. Help us build a community history collection by adding yours to the living archive.
